European Conference – 4th episode: Rethinking participation strategically – Panel session

The fourth episode of the European Conference took place on September 21st. Lise Korsgaard, Chiara Organtini, Ben Walmsley, Daniel Wetzel and Jonathan Goodacre discussed the theme “Rethinking participation strategically”.
This panel session looked at how social distancing has affected engagement and participation in culture. How must cultural professionals react to the new normal?
As a respond to the pandemic, cultural institutions have rethought the relationship with their audiences. To reconsider participation in a strategical way, cultural organisations need to leave their comfort zone, putting audiences in the centre and developing a holistic strategy.
